The Role

You will be at the centre of a project which seeks to optimise strategic marketing and decision-making within Westdale Group Ltd – a Doncaster-based SME that provides house refurbishment services (such as external wall insulation) which directly address the Government drive to improve the energy efficiency of Uk homes and meet net-zero targets.

This exciting role is supported by academic experts from Leeds Beckett University’s Leeds Business School who will help you develop the tools and methodologies to deliver a successful project. You will be based fulltime at the company premises and you will feel, to all intents and purposes, part of the Westdale team.

Project description

The successful candidate will work with teams across the business and have the support of a formidable multi-disciplinary academic team from Leeds Beckett University to:
1. Map the current sales, marketing and digital capabilities across the business.
2. Build a comprehensive picture of the market, competitors and customer base to enable improved
market research, opportunity scanning and risk assessment.
3. Analyse and prioritise opportunities for growth through the development of new markets,
partnerships and services using a range of strategic and tactical marketing techniques.
4. Explore opportunities to develop traditional and digital marketing and thought leadership initiatives to ensure tier and sector leadership.
5. Conduct a full brand audit resulting in the development and management of a cohesive brand
strategy across the Westdale group of companies.

This is underpinned throughout the project by:

1. Creation of a collaborative project team to build networks and to identify, and engage, internal and
external stakeholders
2. Embed tools, techniques and operational models into the business that are sustainable beyond the life of the project
3. Work closely with, and regularly brief, the senior management team regarding project progress and delivery
4. As part of the KTP project be responsible for arranging and minuting monthly formal project team
meetings and presenting on progress and future deliverables at quarterly steering group meetings to
the university, company and funder
5. Any other duties commensurate with this post.

The Company Westdale Group Limited specialise in refurbishment projects tailored to the needs of local authorities, housing associations and principal contractors for both social housing and commercial properties. Established as a Group in 2016 they are based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and employ 70 people via the group of companies. The business has seen significant growth in recent years and is led by an engaged and highly motivated team of directors. The business is now looking to enhance and secure its long term future growth.
