Job description
An exciting opportunity has become available to work on a 36-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between the University of Exeter and Torin-Sifan Ltd. The KTP will focus on the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and related methods, to model and optimise the efficiency and acoustic noise characteristics of impellers and housings, used in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. The successful candidate will be employed by the University of Exeter and will be based at Torin-Sifan’s premises in Swindon.
Project description
The focus of this project is on improving aeroacoustic modelling through CFD. The successful candidate will develop and embed CFD tools to quickly and effectively complete bespoke impeller design tasks and to hone in on optimal impeller/housing designs for both acoustic noise and efficiency. Ultimately this will have a significant impact on Torin-Sifan’s business through speeding up the impeller design process and creating better designs.
