Job description

The company partner, Scott Bros Ltd are a waste management company who are focussed on recycling 100% of their construction waste. This includes through the creation of artificial soil which now requires a sensor platform to be developed which will enable intelligent soil carbon monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) of the soil.
The role is to work within a project team to utilise AI and IoT technologies with a view to creating a commercial Digital Remediation Service.

Project description

This role will suit applicants who are interested in utilising their excellent digital skills in IoT, AI and ML and interests in material science/environmental science to support a 30 month KTP project.

You will be creating a digital asset to enable soil carbon monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) of the artificial soil. This includes;
– Design and development of in-situ sensors and drone-based sensing platform to monitor Soil – Organic and Inorganic Carbon Content.
– Design and development of a robust Machine Learning Platform to predict Soil Carbon Content accurately.
– Verification of the accuracy of collected field data from MRVs sensors and ML predicted data.
– Exploitation through the creation of a commercial Digital Remediation Service.
