The role of the Software Developer – KTP Associate is to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from the University to our partner, Synergy Technology Ltd, via the planning and delivery of a project in the field of artificial intelligence machine learning.
The Role:
You will have previous experience of statistical techniques for data mining and a strong understanding of machine learning and/or predictive modelling. You should hold in-depth knowledge of application development using an object-orientated language and a strong understanding of development of database systems and of information and cyber security considerations for cloud services.
As an AI Solutions Developer (KTP Associate), you will be a highly organised individual with the ability to prioritise workload. You should demonstrate a stringent attention to detail, able to problem solve and strong written, numerical and analytical skills. You can also communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. You should also be able to work successfully within a project team.
Ability and willingness to travel is essential.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is a national scheme administered under the jurisdiction of Innovate UK to facilitate business-university collaboration in tackling key, strategic business-led projects. KTP projects are high impact projects which use knowledge informed research to achieve the significant levels of innovation. The role of the Software Developer – KTP Associate is to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from the University to our partner, Synergy Technology Ltd, via the planning and delivery of a project in the field of artificial intelligence machine learning.

The KTP will build significant new capacity in Synergy Technology, using AI methods to improve order specification and pricing quotation in highly complex manufacturing operations and supply chains. For the University, this project will allow for the demonstration of significant economic and societal impact of our research base. To allow for the effective delivery of the project and transfer of knowledge, the post will be based full time at the premises of Synergy Technology in Preston, Lancashire
