Online briefing event for DASA Open Funding Competition: Monday 12 October, 10-11am

Many KTP Partnerships develop expertise and technologies which would be of value to the defence and security sectors and consequently would be eligible to access the additional funding provided by the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA).

You may not have supplied this sector before but If you think your company’s ideas might be appropriate, find out how to apply for funding in this online briefing event by KTN in collaboration with (DASA).  Register here. 

Working in collaboration DASA will provide: 

  • 100% funding (no matching required); 
  • Favourable T & C’s (no equity or relinquishment of IP); 
  • Access to end-users and technical advice; 
  • Rapid contracting; 
  • Support for commercialisation; 
  • Links to Government, end-users, private sector, and academia.

DASA welcomes ideas from a range of sectors and is looking to identify and fund the most novel and desirable ideas from industry and academia. DASA has recently funded projects to:

  • Reduce counterfeiting of banknotes; 
  • Enable the Army to use autonomous technology to cross rivers; 
  • Reduce the impact of windfarms on radar and bio processing waste liquids.

The Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) was launched in 2016 with the objective to find and fund exploitable innovation to support UK defence and security quickly and effectively, and support UK prosperity. 

DASA can remove the barriers to innovation by providing greater access to end-users; being strategically driven; increasing the pace of exploitation through non-traditional suppliers, and embracing and mitigating risk.
