A new guide providing comprehensive direction for companies on best practice for responsible innovation and innovators has been issued by British Standards Institution (BSI) and InnovateUK and is now available as a free download.
The guide (PAS440:2020) is designed to help you think through the wider implications of your innovation, capture the outcomes of your reflections, and communicate this to stakeholders.
This guidance is best adopted during the early stages of the innovation process, and is particularly suitable for disruptive technologies, although it can be applied anywhere. It will:
  • guide company thinking in respect of innovation and actions
  • help identify and mitigate risks before they become an issue
  • accelerate innovation and develop expertise
  • help reassure investors, customers and other stakeholders that the benefits of any innovation can be achieved
