Job description

The KTP will explore the link between the molecular properties to the macroscopic properties of the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This is a unique opportunity to work with GSK to explore the real-world challenge of polymorphic transformations during processing. The associate will use spectroscopic techniques to investigate polymorphic forms of drug compounds under high-pressure conditions in a pure form but also as part of formulated products to understand the impacts of excipients on the API. The associate will investigate APIs that exhibit polymorphic transformations under compaction and establish a workflow to mitigate against the transformations occurring.

Project description

The project will deliver significant improvements in speed and quality of pharmaceutical product manufacturing processes. This will be achieved through an embedded understanding of the impact of pressure on polymorphs in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), which impacts product stability and biopharmaceutics, ultimately resulting in increased profitability, through savings.
