Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a professionally qualified Optometrist to develop a Digital Decision Support System to aid the diagnoses of eye diseases and improve patients’ quality of care. You will lead a project team, managing the expectations of various stakeholders, under the guidance of an Academic and Company Supervisor with additional support from a mentor from Innovate UK.

This position is a 30 month fixed term contract, with up to £5000 dedicated training budget tailored towards your personal development and future career.

Project description

Cathedral Eye Clinic has partnered with Aston University on this new KTP project to develop a Digital Decision Support System that applies Artificial Intelligence to patients’ clinical data to aid in formulating diagnoses of eye diseases and provides information to clinicians to make better care plan recommendations and improve the quality of care that patients receive.

You will have a BSc/ BOptom/ MOptom degree (min 2:1) in Optometry or related discipline (e.g. Medicine/Ophthalmology) and will be registered with the General Optical Council/ General Medical Council or similar.
