Job description

The KTP Associate will lead the development of this project and review the Maillard reaction and possible mitigation strategies and processes in the development of their products, thereby opening up new sales opportunities for the company.

DUTIES:
• Deliver the project as per the agreed schedule and list of outputs.
• Review and analyse current approaches to acrylamide formation in place within the company and in the wider cooked snacks sector.
• Support the development of a real-time measurement tool for use in the manufacturing process.
• Introduction of new processes to pilot plant production to inform future new product development.
• Write reports as per the requirements of the project.
• Assist in the development of research outputs based on the project.
• Facilitating internal workshops and provision of guidance and training as required to staff at Taylors.
• Project management and administrative tasks related directly to the delivery of the project.

Project description

To reduce acrylamide formation during the manufacture of potato crisps while retaining product characteristics is of paramount importance. This will deliver health benefits to the wider population, support the company’s aims to improve health credentials across its range and provide further research data on acrylamide mitigation to support industry.
