An exciting position is available at the heart of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between the University of Bristol and Beran Instruments Ltd which will help the company to develop a new capability in signal conditioning and instrumentation for the oil and gas sectors through extensive market research, forming new relationships with key players in industry and supporting the integration of this knowledge into the company through the product design and development lifecycle. This is an exciting project developing an innovative product that has the potential to transform the health monitoring of plants used within the oil and gas industries.

You will be based at the company’s headquarters in North Devon and will receive regular supervision from an academic at the University of Bristol. This is a three-year fixed term contract, but it is expected that opportunities will arise at the end of the KTP for a permanent role at Beran.

Project description

Due to sustained growth of the business, Beran Instruments Ltd in partnership with the University of Bristol and Innovate UK are seeking to recruit a KTP Associate to participate in the generation of a new range of vibration condition monitoring products for use in industrial applications.

Beran are seeking an ambitious and innovative Plant Maintenance engineer with experience in vibration and acoustic condition monitoring to support the development of our rotating plant condition monitoring products for exploitation into power generation, oil and gas, manufacturing, and petrochemical industries.

The role requires experience in vibration measurement, data analysis and machine maintenance decision making.

This exciting position is available at the heart of a partnership between the University of Bristol and Beran Instruments Ltd which will help Beran to develop a new capability in signal processing and condition monitoring instrumentation for industrial sectors achieved through application of your expertise and extensive market research.

You will be instrumental in forming new relationships with key players in industry and support the integration of knowledge into the company through the product design and development. This exciting project will result in the development of a range of innovative products that have the potential to transform the health monitoring of plant used within industry.

Through the application of existing knowledge and market research you will identify, refine, scope and help develop the business case for the introduction of new tools and techniques to implement into the Beran’s vibration and condition monitoring products to enhance their market offering.

You will be based at the Beran’s headquarters in North Devon and will receive regular supervision from an academic at the University of Bristol. This position is for a three-year fixed term contract, but it is expected that opportunities will arise at the end of the KTP for a permanent role at Beran.

KTP Associates spend around 10% of their time in training and personal development and have a generous training budget to manage. This includes specific KTP training modules covering personal development and project management, marketing and effective communication, finance and performance management, as well as job-specific technical training.
