THE PROJECT

The University of Essex in partnership with Healthshare Ltd offers an exciting opportunity to a graduate with the relevant skills and knowledge to develop a prediction and recommendation system to enhance Healthshare’s digital pathway screening tool for Musculoskeletal patients using machine learning techniques such as deep neural networks, graph neural networks and Natural Language Processing.

This post is fixed term for 34 months and is based at Healthshare’s offices in West Malling, Kent.

DUTIES OF THE POST
The duties of the post will include:

• Processing, aggregating, and organising data on multi-modal content used in digital healthcare for discovering and recommending outpatient treatments based on patient pathway and profile
• Developing intelligent personalised content recommendation using methodologies such as collaborative and content-based filtering approaches
• Develop and evaluate dynamic multi-modal therapy content recommendation based on deep human-in-the-loop reinforcement learning and graph learning models
• Embedding technology and upskilling company staff
• Supporting company scale up and exploitation of new technology
• Paper writing, publishing, and participating in academic and/or industrial conferences and other events, to disseminate and present research outcomes to the wider community
• Active engagement in personal development

KEY REQUIREMENTS

The post holder must have:

• MSc or Higher Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Electronic Engineering or Physics or equivalent commercial experience.
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of machine learning algorithms for predictive and prescriptive modelling
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of deep reinforcement learning strategies
• Knowledge of recommendation systems and graph data representational techniques
• Experience of applying data fusion and machine learning techniques to data rich problems
• A high level of Python programming ability
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
